Here is a list of databases that will help you find articles from magazines, academic journals, and newspapers on a variety of topics.

ARTstor - A digital library of nearly one million images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences including a set of tools to view, present, and manage images.

JSTOR - An archival database of journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences.  The collection includes Arts and Sciences I-IV.  Journal issues are not current; most titles are available after a 5-year delay.
